Objectives and formative activities of the study program

Study program Bachelor in English Language-Literature and Translation Technology is a program of the first cycle of university studies. This program is organized in 180 ECTS credits, on full-time basis and with a duration of 3 academic years. Language of instruction of this program is English and Albanian in compliance with the curriculum. This program belongs to the 6th level of studies, in accordance with the Albanian Framework of Qualifications. At the end of the studies, a "Bachelor's Diploma in English Language-Literature and Translation Technology" is issued.

Study program Bachelor of English Language-Literature and Translation Technology aims at training students professionally to develop the ability to learn and study English efficiently and independently, increase the knowledge level of English language, literature and competences to use modern translation technology. Through this program, the student acquires knowledge on didactics, teaching methods, cultural, linguistic and literary studies on English language, as well as contemporary technologies that are used today to cater the needs of different types of translation. What is special about this study program is that it responds to the needs of some schools where classes have few students and it is necessary for the teachers to have multidisciplinary professional training to cover various school subjects while fulfilling the teaching load through English language teaching.

Opportunities for further studies

The program offers the preliminary qualification with which graduates can continue in-depth second cycle studies, in compliance with the conditions of the legal framework in force (LAL No. 80 / 2015, Article 83, Point 2), in Master of Arts program in English Language Teaching (with 120 credits) or Master of Science in Literature, Linguistics or Translation / Translation Studies.

Opportunities for employment and professional qualification

Graduates of study program "Bachelor in English Language-Literature and Translation Technology" can be employed in the public and/or private sector in the following fields:

• English language teachers in public and/or private educational institutions, after completing the professional master's degree in education. Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature is a qualification for the teaching program, according to the conditions determined by the legal framework and by-laws in force;
• Official translator, after qualifying with a second cycle diploma in the field of translation. Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature is a qualification for such a study program.
• Communication intermediary in public and private companies that conduct economic and commercial activities with English-speaking parties;
• Translator and / or editor in the media;
• Intercultural communicator in the field of hospitality-tourism;
• Intercultural relations specialist in various governmental and/or NGO organizations;
• Mediator between our country and foreign countries in public and/or private institutions;
